Macie Chandler
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here—it means there’s a story you feel is worth sharing. Before I get to know yours, let me share a little of mine.
My name is Macie Chandler, I’m a writer, actress and director. I’ve always been passionate about stories — learning about people’s lives, their struggles, and their joys, and sharing them in a way that resonates. I studied acting at Exeter college and at Italia Conti for several years before earning my degree in screenwriting at Central Film School London.
Even though I always knew storytelling was my path, it wasn’t until I spent a few months in Brazil that I discovered what I had truly been missing—connection. Connection with myself and with others, the kind that reveals both the most broken and the strongest parts of who you are. For a while, I wasn’t sure what this realisation meant for my future. But then, one day, riding in the back of a taxi into Rio, an image appeared vividly in my mind: the Christ the Redeemer statue surrounded by a glowing heart. In that moment, it became clear—I wanted to spread what i had been missing, I wanted to spread more love into the world through storytelling.
Personal Experience
These are my experimental years, an ongoing journey of discovery, where I stretch my voice and vision to evolve into the writer and director I want to become. I am a keen observer of the world, and I see it as both beautiful and broken — a place often afraid to truly love, one that prioritises perfection and idealised notions of love. My personal stories reflect this reality, and I hope the stories I tell for others do as well.
